Dr. Majda Aburas is an international expert in environmental management & sustainable development, and the first female Saudi scientist to specialize in oil-contaminated soil treatment. She has a doctorate degree in Environmental Biotechnology for Contaminants. She is a review editor in Global Environmental Outlook (GEO-6) United Nation Environment. She is also the founder and chairwoman of the Saudi Environmental Society and the leader and the ambassador of environmental work in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Majda Aburas is the leader of many national and international initiatives such as Environmental Police Initiative, the National Program for Environmental Awareness and Sustainable Development, the Environmental Inspection Program, the Environment Fund Program and the Green Hajj and Omar Strategy all of which were adopted in the Kingdom Saudi Arabia.

Prof. Rachid Yazami
Prof. Rachid Yazami is a native of Fez, Morocco and a graduate of the Grenoble Institute of Technology (INPG) in electrochemistry and materials science where he also received a Ph.D. on graphite intercalation compounds for lithium battery application, and later rose to the position of research director at CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) in Grenoble, France. He is currently an entrepreneur living in Singapore.
In recognition of his pioneer work in lithium batteries, Prof. Yazami received several prestigious prizes and honors, including the Draper Prize for Engineering (Washington DC, 2014), the Takreem Award (Kuwait 2018), the Royal Wissam (Morocco, 2014) and the Legion d’Honneur (France, 2016). He is nominated for the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
Ahmed Baroudi
Dr Ahmed began his career in the development of aircraft simulators using real time synthesis images for pilot training.
After an intense period, he became Project Director within operational production teams in Telecom Group. Later he joined a world leader in the space sector for a ten year period where he was in charge of Earth Observation and Science focused on Africa.
He relocated to Morocco in February 2010 to create the Energy Investment Company of the Kingdom. He has set up a team with whom he has developed national projects of renewable energy production (solar, hydro, biomass) and energy efficiency with financial solutions, especially new innovative models in key sectors such as street lighting, public buildings or clean energy production in agriculture.
Karim El-Jisr
Mr. Karim El-Jisr has 20 years of experience in resource management, climate change, and urban development. Based in The Sustainable City in Dubai, he currently manages the SEE Institute – a global platform for advancing knowledge in sustainability and the built environment.
The Institute manages multi-year research programs, demonstration projects with industry partners, in an incubator for sustainability products and technologies, and a modular training program for professionals in the built environment. Karim holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Engineering in Agriculture, and a Master’s of Science in Ecosystem Management from the American University of Beirut. He also holds a course certificate in Business Sustainability Management from the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL).
